Anyone know some good, unheard of indie or indie-rock bands?

My brother is always pulling these crazy indie bands out of nowhere and I've always wanted to stump him and come up with something he hadn't heard of. I recently beat him with the discovery of Fleet Foxes. I'd like to get another one up on him. I am a huge fan of music. Examples for musical suggestions: Bon Iver, Wolf Parade, Okkervil River, etc. I'd also take surf music suggestions such as Jack Johnson, G. Love, Slightly Stoopid, or Donavon Frankenreiter. If you know any good bands leave them here please!
