Are the cheaper aluminum water bottles dangerous? Am I silly to spend so much?

I'm not sure about dangerous...but I have a stainless steel one, and that will last alot longer than an aluminum one. Also, mine (a Klean Kanteen from 's Sporting Goods) only cost $8.
