IsThe Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya any good?

OOOHHkAY, ive been watching a lot of anime lately and have been looking for a new romantic comedy in english and I've gotten this as a recommendation. I've just seen the first episode and it looks like it has potential but if its not all that amazing i don't really want to waste my time. And if you have any recomendations that are not School Rumble, Ouran HSHC, The Wall Flower, Clannad, Fruits Basket, and Karin I am ALL EARS. BUT in english dubb, and ive really been wanting somrthing that'll make me laugh out loud!
